Sechseläuten festival, Zurich
This is the latest in our Full Width Photo Essay series, this time it’s at the Sechseläuten festival in Zurich, Switzerland. We, along with hundreds of thousands of other people have found ourselves stranded in Europe due to the Icelandic volcano eruption. Luckily as you can see below – Every volcanic ash cloud has a silver lining…

1. The festivities start as far as Munich central station.
2. The parade marches on by.
3. Sunshine + Sechseläuten festival = a great day in Zurich.
4. Children dressed up march through the streets of Zurich.
5. People dash from the sidelines to give the ones they like a flower in exchange for a kiss.
6. Baloons fill the air as people let loose and enjoy the Sechseläuten festival.
7. The streets around Bellevue tram station get crazy crowded.
8. The snowman is burned to see how good the summer will be... We're told this year that is was "average".
9. Rapping it up at the river side - Georgie wears Pink.
10. Zurich river twinkles at night after the Sechseläuten festival.

That’s my favourite too, it just seems to capture exactly what saw… Which is harder than it should be. I’m no pro photographer and I think the ease of post production makes it easy not to learn the basics… But I’m trying!

I’d love to take all the credit but Georgie takes a fair few too… There is a clear difference between the first pictures we took and what we take now… A steep learning curve but we’re getting there and great comments by people like you make it all worth while
